First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion:

Tomorrow we should have celebrated the First Communion for St Paul’s Brunswick Street and last Friday should have been the girls in George’s Hill.

I want to acknowledge this and how difficult I know it has been, and is, for the parents and children who have had their special day cancelled. I know some parents have asked if Communions can take place in the School with just the children present. Sadly, the answer is that this isn’t possible while we are in level 3, 4 or 5.

The Archbishop wrote to all parishes in the Archdiocese on the 19th of Sepetmber to inform us that no Holy Communion ceremonies were to take place until we move out of restrictions and it’s safe for us to do so.

I am sorry that so many people are disappointed and it’s not easy in any way. All I can do is promise that when the restrictions have been lifted and it is safe to do so, we will prioritise the Holy Communions. At this stage I can’t say when this will be.

May God bless you and keep you safe.
