Holy Week in Halston Street

Published on April 4, 2020

This year Holy Week will be very different to other years in that we can’t physically gather to celebrate the ceremonies. HOWEVER, we can still connect and gather as a faith commumity on-line. It is our intention to broadcast the Holy Week ceremonies from the Parish Church at the following times:

Palm Sunday (5th April) – Mass at 12 Noon
Daily Mass (Monday to Wednesday) – 9.30am

Holy Thursday (9th April)

Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 6pm. Celebrant: Fr Seán Kelly OFM Cap – Provincial Minister of the Irish Capuchin Franciscan Friars.

Good Friday (10th April) :
12 Noon – Stations of the Cross
3pm – The Lord’s Passion

Holy Saturday (11th April) –

Easter Vigil Mass at 6pm with singing from Michelle Donnelly. Celebrant : Fr Martin Bennett OFM Cap – Parish Priest, Halston Street Parish.

Easter Sunday (12th April)

Easter Sunday Mass at 12 Noon with singing from Michelle Donnelly.

We hope to have the webcam up and running for these ceremonies. I will share the link one the work is finished.

Another great resource comes from the Diocese of Kildare & Leighlin and hopes us all celebrate Holy Week at Home: Bringing-Holy-Week-Home

I know many of you have prayer requests at this time, please keep sending them in. You can include them at the end of this post, direct message us or email halstonst@gamil.com. You can also used the old fashioned way and phone 01 874 0675 and leave a message.

I fully appreciate how difficult this time is for all our parishioners. You are all in our daily prayers. Thank you to all who are working so hard to support those who are housebound at this time.

God bless you all. Stay safe.

Fr Martin
